In Which Raine Fucks Up

I am sad. Again. It's been a rough couple of days here. I've been horribly busy at work then I get home and just want to lie in bed.

I feel horribly guilty because I lost (had stolen) all of the money I got from Christmas. I was supposed to put it in my vacation fund and now it is gone. Most of it was from my parents and I feel like I squandered their hard earned money. Of course I didn't really, I just irresponsibly left my purse with my coat at a New Year's party. I feel like I fucked up.

At work, I work inside a hood, it's kinda like a cabinet. Usually I sit down in front of it. Yesterday, I had to stand and I kept hitting my head on the top of it. Over and over. I got really angry and punched it. Of course that did not help, it just caused my hand to hurt a bit. Thankfully there was no one to witness my adolescent behavior.

I just want to stay home and sleep, but I am too busy to do that. Maybe I will anyways.

Tell us about something you punched.

  1. So sorry about your loss of money. I know that it is tight, and that doesn't help. But you are a good mom to your young one, and in the end I think that is all that matters!

  2. You get tired of all the crap after awhile. I don't punch but right now I have someone in mind that I'd like to shoot. Does that count?

  3. I punched a door in college after my dad called to tell me my childhood dog had died. Broke my hand.

  4. So sorry for your loss of money. That sucks. I'm also sorry you kept hitting your head. Hopefully things will turn around soon.

    Stopping by from Mama Kat's.

  5. Maybe this will make you want to punch me, but I am going to say it anyways...I prayed for your money to be found or that you get it back somehow...stranger things have happened. I think punching inanimate objects really releases anger...sorry for the loss. Can only imagine how hard that is...

  6. Punching helps I think.

Sorry about your money. I've been there. Never feels good.

  7. I'm sorry the theft occurred. When you let one thing get you down, it feels like everything else is conspiring against you to bring you further down. Don't let it. Rail against the bed; it's warm and comfy, but it's just as bad as the circumstances that bring you down. It'll hold you there instead of letting you be happy, smiling, energetic, not feeding into the sadness or tiredness or overall doom and gloom. I hope things perk up for you soon. The money is gone, some asshole is maybe enjoying it. But if you let that continue to drag you down, it'll be harder and harder to come back up.

  8. Aww - that sucks. It totally wasn't your fault, you know. Some people are so damn selfish....I can't believe they think it's ok to take what's not theirs to take.

  9. one time i set the not-even-month-old purse i'd gotten for christmas, with the nearly new wallet that had come with it, and the several hundred dollars i'd gotten for christmas money inside it ... on top of a soda machine. and forgotten it. and when i went back to get it, it was gone.

the school found it a few days later, called my mother to tell her it was in the office, in the lost and found box.

and she put off going to get it.

and the school called a few days later to tell her that someone had broken into the office and stolen everything in the lost and found box.

i'm sorry about the lost money and that you're sad. i wish i had something else to say to cheer you up.

thanks for participating in the giveway i've got going on over at picky. :]

  10. Things happen. Other people can be selfish, petty and thoughtless and you did not make them this way. :)

Don't dwell on the money loss, lesson learned. You need to move forward and concentrate on the 'busy' ahead of you.

  11. I read a great quote the other day, "“It turned out this man worked for the Dalai Lama. And she said gently-that they believe when a lot of things start going wrong all at once, it is to protect something big and lovely that is trying to get itself born-and that this something needs for you to be distracted so that it can be born as perfectly as possible.”

    Hopefully this helps. :)
